Originally from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Theo Veenstra brings more than two decades of real estate experience and a unique perspective to helping people buy and sell property in Costa Rica.

Theo’s real estate career began in Muskoka, Ontario, one of Canada’s best-known cottage and recreational property markets. Working with vacation-home buyers, retirees and families taught him an important lesson that continues to guide his business today: Theo states; Real Estate isn’t simply buying or selling property — it’s about helping people make important decisions with a segment of their lives.

After first visiting Costa Rica in 2008, Theo quickly developed a connection with the country. In 2012, he took the adventure a step further and drove from Canada to Costa Rica. By 2014, Costa Rica had become home. Today, Theo is both a Canadian and Costa Rican citizen and lives full-time in Playas del Coco, Guanacaste.

Because Theo personally made the transition from Canada to Costa Rica, he understands many of the questions international buyers have — not only about real estate, but also about choosing the right community, buying property, building or renovating, transportation, services and adapting to everyday life in a new country.

Over the years, Theo has traveled extensively throughout Costa Rica and developed a broad network of trusted professionals. His background includes real estate sales, property renovation, home construction and business ownership, giving him a practical perspective when evaluating properties and helping clients understand their options to design an individual ownership fit.

Based in Playas del Coco, Theo specializes in real estate throughout Guanacaste and the Gulf of Papagayo, including Peninsula Papagayo, Playas del Coco, Playa Hermosa, Playa Panamá, Playa Ocotal and surrounding communities.
